What's to do in Oxford this weekend.....June 27th-29th

The Oxford Wine and Art Affair kicks off today from 3:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. in the Uptown Parks.  Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the event.  Come and enjoy a fun-filled event featuring cultural entertainment, wine tasting, art exhibits and live music.  There will also be interactive games for the whole family!  For more information, call (513) 523-5200 or visit www.oxfordchamber.org.

On Saturday morning visit the Oxford Farmers Market in the Uptown Parks from 7:30 a.m. until Noon where they will present a "MARKET FRESH CHEF" cooking demo at 10:00 a.m.  Also be sure to visit the Original Talawanda Farmers Market at the Talawanda High School parking lot from 7:30 a.m. until Noon.

The Oxford Wine and Art Affair will continue on Saturday afternoon from 3:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m..  If you missed it Friday, be sure to come out Saturday and join in on the fun!

Activities this weekend, June 19th thru June 22nd.

 Tonight is the Summer Music Festival with Stagger Lee performing from 7:30 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.  Bring a chair and enjoy the community parks!

Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. is Family Story Time at Oxford Lane Library.  This is a program for all ages.  Later that day, from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., kids ages 6-9 can explore their world throug the camera's lens by participating in "Picture Your World" at the Oxford Lane Library.  Each participant will receive a disposable camera to use to document their experience.  Call (513) 523-7531 or visit www.lanepl.org for more information.

Activities this Weekend, June 5th through June 8th

The 2008 Summer Music Festival kicks off this Thursday night with the Sonny Moorman Group performing from 7:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.!  Come join us as we enjoy our beautiful uptown parks and wonderful community!

The Oxford Community Pool is having a free "School's Out" Pool Party from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Friday.  Join in on the fun and cool off!

Talawanda High School holds their Graduation  Friday night at Millett Hall at 7:30 p.m. CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2008!!!!

The Miami University Recreational Center is hosting the CAC Swim Meet from Friday, June 6th through Sunday, June 8th.  And the first session of Hockey Camp begins Sunday the 8th through Friday the 13th with 120 participants expected.

Activities this Weekend

It's beginning to feel like Summer!  And for those of you with curly hair (human barometers), you can tell how humid it is!

Tomorrow morning from 7:30 a.m. until Noon, the Oxford Farmers Market will be uptown and the Original Talawanda Farmers Market will be at the Talawanda High School parking lot.  Be sure to check them both out and get fresh produce!  Then take a dip at the Oxford Municipal Pool and cool off!  Adult Swim is from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., and Open Swim is from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  Call (513) 523-6314 for more informaiton.

On Sunday take your dog to the Dog Wash starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home located at 5086 College Corner Pike.  Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Activities this Weekend May 23rd-May 25th

Here comes the sun!  And just in time for a nice long weekend!  This is a perfect time to drive around Hueston Woods and have a picnic, visit the Nature Center, and ride bikes on the many trails.  Or take a walk around Uptown Oxford and visit all the great shops!  Enjoy lunch at the one of the many parks throughout town.

Don't forget about the Original Talawanda Farmers Market at the Talawanda High School Parking Lot and the Oxford Farmers Market Uptown at the Memorial Park and Parking Lot.  Both start at 7:30 a.m. and end at Noon.  At 12:30 the TRI Community Center is celebrating Opening Day at the Municipal Pool by having a Foam-In Celebration.  Come romp in the firefighter foam next to the pool.  The pool opens at 1:00 p.m.!

Activities this Weekend, 5/16-5/18

They say "April showers bring May flowers", but this can't be what they were talking about!  The RedHawks game against Kent State was rained out last night and has been rescheduled for today at 1:00 p.m.  They have a game after that at 6:00 p.m.  The OVCB staff and Board Members enjoyed the hospitality extended to us by Miami University Athletics!  They really go "all out" to make their guests very welcome!  Go to www.muredhawks.com for game schedules and cheer on the RedHawks!

On Sunday at 2:00 p.m., the Woven Concert takes place at the Oxford Community Arts Center.  Special guests include Lisa Biales, Laurie Traveline Neyer, Sirenz, Christine House Shumway and Sandra Seefelt.  Refreshments will be served and admission is free.  But all donations will support the programs of the Oxford Community Arts Center, www.oxarts.org.

Activities This Weekend, April 25th - April 27th

The Annual Spring Ice Show begins this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Goggin Ice Center!  Come see all the talented skaters and wonderful costumes!  A lot of hard work goes into putting this show together, and they do a phenomenal job!  For information call (513) 529-9800 or visit www.ice.muohio.edu.

Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. interactive walking tours exploring the history of civil rights at Miami, "Walk with Me:  Freedom Summer Training at Western College Campus", start in front of Clawson Hall and conclude at the Freedom Summer Memorial.  This tour is free and open to the public and no reservations are needed, unless you have a group of 20 or more.  For information call (513) 529-3053. 

Miami's Softball Team vs. Central Michigan Friday, April 25th, at 3:00 p.m. and the Baseball Team vs. Bowling Green  that same night at 6:00 p.m.; Softball vs. Eastern Michigan on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Baseball vs. Bowling Green at 6:00 p.m.  On Sunday, Baseball vs. Bowling Green at 1:00 and Softball vs. Eastern Michigan at the same time.

Activities this weekend, April 18th thru April 20th

It's hard to believe with all this beautiful sunshine outside, that we started the day with a "freeze warning"!  We hope you covered your plants. 

This weekend may be a little rainy, but there's plenty of fun things to do indoors if you don't participate in the MUSF Triathlon this Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. (call 529-6868 for more details) or join the Audubon Miami Valley for a visit to Hueston Farm, the newest Butler County Metro Park (meet at the west side parking lot of the old Oxford Wal-Mart at 7:30 a.m.).  For example, Friday night the Symphony Orchestra and Men's Glee Club perform at Hall Auditorium at 8:00 p.m., conducted by Ricardo Averbach and Ethan Sperry.  Tickets are $7 public and $5 student/youth.  Go to www.muohio.edu/theatre for more details.  Saturday night The Miami University Gospel Singers (MUGS) present the 35th Annual Gospel Fest Concert at Hall Auditorium beginning at 4:00 p.m.  Tickets are $7 for the concert or $10 for the concert and dinner.  Call (513) 529-3200 or visit www.tickets.muohio.edu for more information.  On Sunday at 2:00 p.m. An Evening of One-Act Plays takes place at Gates-Abegglen Theatre.  Visit www.muohio.edu/theatre for details.
